Inventum are pleased to be working with an established alternative finance institution who are looking for their next Head of Risk and Compliance to join them and lead the overall compliance for the group. Salary: £90,000 - £110,000 per annum benefits. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Risk Monitoring and Reporting: Monitor, Report and challenge the performance of key risk indicators, identifying issues and trends to appropriately manage the risk position of the business and drive mitigation and remedial action. Risk Framework Ownership: Own the Group’s risk management framework and develop risk management strategies by applying a risk-based approach, in collaboration with the business and aligned to the business objectives. Escalation to Executive Risk Committee: Escalate matters to the Executive Risk Committee through proactive and comprehensive reporting, informing on emerging trends and risks, to prompt consideration and decisions by the Executive Committee and Board Regulatory Compliance and Governance: Lead the development and implementation of robust systems, policies and controls to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements across risk management, governance and data protection standards Compliance Monitoring Programme: Develop and implement a comprehensive annual compliance monitoring programme, reporting findings and overseeing the delivery of actions Regulatory Permissions and Governance: Manage all regulatory permissions, requests and requirements from the FCA and champion customer-focused governance to ensure alignment with the FCA Consumer Duty and good outcomes for customers Support Business Change: Support the business through change, including the design of new products and processes, to ensure consideration of regulatory compliance and risk management, working in multi-disciplinary teams, influencing and confidently guiding the business to solutions Regulatory Reporting and Disclosures: Manage reporting, disclosures and responses to the regulator(s), ensuring accuracy and timeliness in compliance with legal obligations Team Leadership and Development: Manage the performance and ongoing personal development of the risk and compliance teams, ensuring they are supported, trained and aligned with both business objectives and regulatory requirements Regulatory Updates and Communications: Remain up to date with all regulatory compliance developments, including new announcements and changes. Communicate these updates clearly and concisely to the business, ensuring prompt adaption Responsible for a team of 5, strong leadership and team management experience ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS: Technical: Experience of working within an FCA regulated business Experience of working within financial services Recent and relevant experience as a Senior Compliance Officer or Head of Compliance Detailed knowledge and thorough understanding of FCA handbook and the Senior Managers Certification Regime Strong risk management technical knowledge Clear understanding of UK laws and regulation Skills: 5 years’ experience in risk and compliance roles Proven experience in effectively communicating with regulators, senior management and the Board Ability to provide accurate and concise advice to the business and provide risk and compliance context to decision making Good management skills and the ability to prioritise work according to risk Ability to interpret regulatory rules and guidance as they apply to the business and communicate these to management Excellent verbal and written communication skills alongside relationship-building skills DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS: Relevant professional qualification(s) Experience of the Consumer Credit Act
