Working on behalf of a Local Authority, Aatom Recruitment has a new opportunity for a Project Supervisor - Mechanical/Legionella on a 3 months contract initially with a possibility of further extension.
Manage the Councils building and maintenance projects, providing technical specialist advice in Mechanical Building Services Engineering, ensuring that all works are carried out in an efficient manner, setting performance specifications and standards and being responsible for ensuring works meet the required quality standards, including ensuring that the legislative duties under Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 are discharged effectively with particular reference to water hygiene and legionella.
Technical specialist: Provide technical specialist advice in Building Services Engineering(mechanical). Be the Councils technical specialist for mechanical engineering, overseeingcompliance, servicing, and projects involving: Heating, hot water generation, hot and cold water services (including managing quarterlywater hygiene control tasks), air conditioning services, commercial kitchensOversee mechanical engineering services and construction project delivery and prepare reports,estimates, specifications, drawings and works schedules for quotations or tendering. Oversee a programme of lift inspections and ensure that all in use lifts are thoroughly examinedby competent person at specified intervals in accordance with legislation, COP's or otherrelevant standards maintaining all records to the same.
Ensure that the Council comply with all relevant legislation necessary to ensure the safeoperation of Lifts. Direct a programme of inspections, risk assessments, effective lift maintenance and repair thatensures that lifts are available and safe for use. Responsible for setting the design and quality specification for the Councils building constructionand maintenance projects ensuring projects are delivered to the required specification, qualityand budget.Monitor performance of mechanical, design services, responsible for addressing contractor orconsultant under performance and resolving issues. Checking work on site and signing offfollowing snagging.Check mechanical test certification and/or commissioning certification to ensure councilproperties comply with mechanical and British Standard regulations. Make site visits to councilproperties to survey or check installations.Manage the completion and handover of council building contracts.
