Temporary contract until 31 January 2026 | £36,124 to £40,476 per annum (Scale I/J) | 37 hours per week | County Hall, Norwich
We offer a £2000 welcome payment for qualified and experienced Social Workers/Occupational Therapists (grade J and above), Practice Consultants and Team Managers new to Norfolk County Council. Amount to be repaid in full should they leave within two years of employment.

The Preparing for Adult Life Service is Norfolk’s transition into Adult Social Care service for young people.
We are looking for an enthusiastic Practice Consultant who has considerable experience of working within a social work role, including experience of working with complex needs and risks associated with mental health needs or disabilities. You will be a skilled practitioner with a professional qualification in social work who can evidence your knowledge and understanding of strength-based assessment, care management procedures, and supervision skills.
You will have the ability to work with young people, as well as their families, and be able to demonstrate an understanding of the legislative requirements, especially understanding how to support a team to meet Care Act 2014 responsibilities, as well as legislation such as the Children and Families Act 2014, in terms of meeting the 4 prepared for adulthood obligations.
You will also have a commitment to working in partnership with families as well as with the range of professionals and other agencies who could also be involved in supporting the young person as part of preparing for adult life.
