We are currently recruiting for an experienced Process Operator to join our Team at Tarmac’s Cement Plant in Aberthaw, South Wales. The site is easily accessible from Rhoose, Barry, Penarth, Cardiff, Rumney, St Mellons, Newport, Cwmbran, Pontypool, Abergavenny, Brynmawr, Ebbw Vale, Tredegar, Rhymney, Mountain Ash, Pontypridd, Pontyclun, Pencoed, Merthyr Tydfil, Tonyrefail, Bridgend, Porthcawl, Llantwit Major and the surrounding areas.

Role Responsibility
As the successful Process Operator, you will report into the Production Coordinator and as our plant operations run on a 24/7 basis, this role requires flexibility to ensure the running of the plant is effective. on a day to day basis, duties and responsibilities of the role will include (not exhaustive):
1. Monitoring the automated performance of the pre-heater, kiln feeder, rotary kiln burner, calciner, exhaust gases, emissions and cooler processes
2. Interacting and manipulating the process in order to ensure production of cement is maximised and consistently remains within specifications
3. Working as part of a team in managing the day to day blockages, housekeeping, general maintenance and production issues
4. Populating production data into the various software systems used on site in order to ensure performance levels are efficiently monitored
5. Monitoring, reporting and recording any incidents, abnormalities or deviations based on an appropriate checklist
6. Reviewing equipment and production conditions in accordance with job plans
7. Ensuring Tarmac is compliant with all Health Safety and Environmental regulations
8. Making sure good housekeeping standards are maintained within the department
9. Ensuring additives and raw materials are available at the designed areas and in correct quantity
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be a Process Operator who has experience in a similar role and although not essential, if this is in a Cement background, this would be beneficial.
Ideally, we would like any prospective applicants for the Process Operator to be in receipt of the following skills and experience:
10. Mechanical or Electrical process knowledge
11. Able to carry out heavy manual work
12. Experience of working in a production environment or maintenance team
13. Comprehensive understanding of safety procedures and leads by example in relation to safety standards
14. Having a certificate in isolation procedures and a mobile plant licence would be desirable
