Purpose of the role Contribute to the operational effectiveness of Heidelberg Materials Aggregates by helping to identify and facilitate implementation of opportunities to improve the performance of the aggregates production facilities base. This is applicable to the day-to-day operations and also the choice of plant and equipment for new developments and plant improvements. Key accountabilities Work with Area General Manager and District Operations Management in the assessment of process, productivity, safety, environmental and energy improvement opportunities and prioritise those, which have the greatest potential to improve operational performance. Agree benefit and timeline when drafting production improvement plans. Contribute to the analysis of new operational projects, including engineering project management and financial appraisal, and post capital evaluation against the design and operational performance. Problem solving for operations to resolve engineering, maintenance, and project management issues. Contribute to improvements in operational safety, productivity, and cost through effective engineering solutions. Provide innovative and cost-effective maintenance solutions that add value to the operating business. Liaise with, and provide advice to, senior management on all engineering and project management issues. Ensure the delivery of group engineering, maintenance, and project management policy. Monitor (KPIs) to improve the performance of the engineering, project management and maintenance functions. Principal Challenges: Take responsibility for providing a safe and clean working environment. Take responsibility for sourcing, managing, and monitoring outsourced engineering and project management functions. With assistance from the Area General Managers and District Operations Managers, review, analyse and identify achievements, shortfalls, and areas for improvement on a regular basis and implement corrective actions. Ensure activities meet with and integrate with organizational requirements for quality management, health and safety, legal regulations, environmental policies and general duty of care. Ensure the operations are compliant with the Heidelberg Materials IMS Ensure there is full cooperation with and alignment to the procurement department.
