We are looking for an enthusiastic, ambitious and motivated, qualified registered Pharmacy Technician who is keen to develop their skills further, to join our busy Pharmacy team at the Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust.
The successful candidate will be registered as a Pharmacy Technician with the GPhC and have experience of working as a Pharmacy Technician post registration.
The role is ward based and focuses on the safe use of medication from admission to discharge for each individual patient. We are fully automated with the Meditech EPMA system and dispensing robot and have imminent new developments, which the successful candidate will be an essential part of. We are forward thinking and encourage our Pharmacy Technicians to learn and obtain further relevant qualifications in addition to undertaking a nationally recognised accredited accuracy checking course, if not already obtained. Main duties of the job
* Working with members of the multi-disciplinary and medicines optimisation teams.
* Performing medicines reconciliation.
* Ordering and dispensing medication.
* Assisting in the training of new staff.
* Ensuring medicines are in the right place at the right time.
* Educating nursing staff regarding medicine matters on the ward.
* Assisting with discharge planning.
