Job Title: Software Support Engineer
Location: Walsall - Hybrid (2dpw typically in the office)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week plus 1 week in every 5 week on-call duty
Salary: Up to £40,000 per annum plus on-call allowance
The role of a Software Support Engineer will be to support and maintain a wide range of software that’s associated with our Billing and CRM application.
You will be part of the Managed Services Team who are responsible for managing client’s environments and providing support and consultancy to our non-managed clients. You will get exposure to a wide range of software and the ability to make continual improvements to our processes to make them more efficient.
The Role
1. Troubleshoot & diagnose software issues to identify root causes and implement effective solutions
2. Ensure software is secure and patched regularly
3. Create monitoring and alerting routines
4. Ensure software process documentation is kept up to date
5. Providing technical support to our clients
6. Planning and testing of Disaster Recovery across multiple applications
7. Performing environment refreshes and deploying code
8. Be part of the 24/7 on-call team to support our managed clients with core modules
What You’ll Need
1. 3 years’ experience in a similar software support role
2. Good understanding of deployment processes (Gearset / GIT knowledge preferred)
3. Awareness of Cloud fundamentals
4. Security, backup and recovery concepts
5. Excellent communication and analytical skills
6. Excellent troubleshooting skills
7. Knowledge/Awareness of the following would be desirable but not essential as we will provide training:
* Salesforce Admin Tasks
* AWS platform and services (e.g. Amazon MQ, Amazon Connect)
* MuleSoft Anypoint Platform
* OpenEdge
* Jira
