The purpose of the role is to provide technical accounting oversight to the UK private asset book. This will cover multiple fund ranges from ACS – Authorised Contractual Scheme, PAIF – Property Authorised Investment Fund, segregated mandates, insurance funds, and SPV – Special Purpose Vehicle.
In this role you will:
1. Provide expertise to accounting requirements across the asset class and fund jurisdictions.
2. Ensure that any interpretation of requirements is understood and implemented robustly.
3. Develop and maintain a good working relationship with client contacts and third parties such as audit firms and external technology providers.
4. Continually re-assess the operational risks inherent in the business, taking account of changing economic or market conditions, legal and regulatory requirements, operating procedures and practices, management restructurings, and the impact of new technology.
5. Maintain an awareness of topical market issues, and in particular changes to pricing and accounting/tax requirements.
6. Keep up to date with trade journals and technical announcements and identify where changes to current practices may be required.
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
1. Qualified Accountant or equivalent professional experience in accounting.
2. Experience of dealing directly with external clients and third parties.
3. Experience in Private Assets is mandatory; infrastructure and real estate are highly preferred.
4. Preferred experience in Yardi.
5. Thorough knowledge of Investment Accounting and Fund Administration is beneficial.
6. Ability to build and maintain good working relationships with colleagues.
7. Effective communication skills in writing and verbally. Ability to plan and organize workload to meet deadlines, considering priorities.
8. Strong business sense and awareness of key issues/risks within Fund Administration.
