Senior Registrar x 2
One post will be based at County Hall, Morpeth and the other at Fenkl Street, Alnwick with the need to move around different location from Hexham up to Berwick.
Permanent, Full Time
The Service
The Registration Service is responsible for delivering all civil registration functions across Northumberland, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation. This includes the registration of births, deaths, stillbirths, marriages, and civil partnerships, as well as taking notices of marriage and civil partnerships, conducting ceremonies, and handling citizenship and nationality services, along with associated registration duties.
We deliver over 2,000 ceremonies annually across 70 Approved Premises in the county, making weddings and civil partnerships a significant aspect of our operations. Additionally, the service registers more than 3,000 births and deaths each year and issues over 20,000 copy certificates.
We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join the Northumberland Registration Service and provide a professional and customer-focused service to residents.
We have embraced new and agile ways of working, which may require officers to operate from any Northumberland County Council base, Approved Premises across the county, or work from home when appropriate.
This is an exciting time both locally and nationally as the service works towards a digital transformation agenda which has the potential to change and improve our ways of working and how service is delivered to customers. Recent local changes have led to part of our service relocating to new accommodation at County Hall, Morpeth, where we are now co-located with the Coroner Service and our exemplar coroner court facilities.
