Project Director vacancy coming available in Q2 2025 for a large concrete frame apartment project in Central Manchester with the site currently in progress.
A new opportunity for a Project Director to deliver a large £65m project in Central Manchester. The project is a high-rise residential development built across 2 blocks and is concrete frame by design. You will be working with the main contractor and be responsible for liaising with the client and overseeing the directly employed site team, reporting to an Operations Director.
As Project Director, you will take full responsibility for the project from the concrete frame erection stage through to completion, with another 3 phases scheduled after completion.
You will execute the project within the defined requirements (e.g., cost, time, functionality, safety, and quality), ensure business success and client & end purchaser satisfaction, ensure professional stakeholder management, ensure timely decisions on open issues, escalating if necessary, and contract execution in a professional and compliant manner.
Your Responsibilities
1. Report to the Operations Director.
2. Manage large recent city centre projects within your project history.
3. Deliver high-value construction projects for large main contractors.
4. Be a confident people manager, able to delegate and build strong teams that can operate efficiently.
5. Be commercially aware and able to identify potential contractual issues and escalate if necessary.
6. Strong experience in planning and site programming is welcomed.
7. Work with a strong partnered supply chain.
The project will involve concrete frame up to 30 stories height and have market-leading amenities for its occupier on completion.
Ideally, we are looking for a degree-qualified and Chartered construction manager, with a proven track record of delivering city centre projects, and ideally a good working knowledge of the Manchester construction market & concrete frame apartment projects.
