About the role
St Barnabas House provides specialist palliative care to adults in the Worthing, Adur, Arun and Henfield areas through a range of services, including in-patient care and community living well services.
The Living Well service provides patients with support both individually and in a group setting to help them stay independent, self-manage their condition and be proactive in Living Well. Our Community Companion volunteers offer befriending, sitting, and support to patients in the community. This role is pivotal in supporting the volunteers with the activities they undertake.
As part of the Living Well team, you will be the first point of contact for any queries from Community Companion volunteers, patients, and clinical teams, providing appropriate advice and support as required. You will support the Living Well team with a wide range of administrative duties, ensuring the day-to-day smooth running of the Community Companion Service.

Our sister hospice, Chestnut Tree House, is the children’s hospice for East and West Sussex and South East Hampshire, providing specialist palliative care for children and young people with life-limiting conditions. You’ll be joining our organisation at an exciting time, as St Barnabas Hospices and Martlets Hospice are in the process of merging, allowing us to focus on new visions and plans for our people and patients.
