Job responsibilities As a Matron your role is to provide excellent standards of patient care within the resources available. The Matron will be supported by key members of the Service Groups Operational Team, and will provide clinical leadership to ensure the delivery of high quality services to all services users in accordance with agreed objectives, targets, quality standards, controls and resource constraints.To work in collaboration with the Surgical and Critical Care Triumvirate, Service Managers, Clinical Matrons, Clinical Nurse/OPD Managers and the governance team to provide clinical leadership to programmes of work aligned to nursing clinical / professional standards and governance within the Surgical Services.Take delegated responsibility for ensuring compliance with national / regulatory standards for effective complaints and patient experience management and all activities related to patient experience.To provide clinical and managerial leadership to the surgical directorate governance support team to ensure effective systems and processes and programmes of work are in place to ensure the most efficient uses of resources are delivered in alignment with national and local guidance.Work collaboratively as a Matron group across both acute sites providing a consistent clinical leadership presence.Uphold the values of the organisation and associated behaviours through visible transformational leadership.
