Our construction client requires a Site Manager for a major construction site, in Shetland. Applicants should have at least an HNC/Degree in Civil Engineering and have experience delivering major civil engineering works e.g. Roads, Drainage, Kerbing etc Duties: Candidate ideally have worked there way up through their career from on the tools to supervisor/manager Have a technical qualification like civil engineering or construction project management Have good commercial knowledge and ability to manage a construction site and how the works makes money Ability to read drawings and operate CAD and check what the site team are doing NEC contract - fully understand the type of the contract, how it works the different roles and responsibilities - Early warnings compensation events - communication forms and document control Good Knowledge of Health, Safety and Environmental management, roles and responsibility. Manage the day to day safe system of work on the site - toolbox talks - reviewing and approving RAMS from subcontractor etc. Some experience of project planning and MS Project. Work well as part of a team Able to cope with working in Shetland Work rota: Flexible but at least 2 weeks on, before time off Flights & Accomodation provided by the client.
