About the team:
expanding and high performing Group Internal Audit (GIA) team. The role is critical to shaping and supporting the evolution of the GIA function to be more dynamic, technology-enabled, and data driven. This is both a hands on and strategic position requiring a diverse set of skills.

The Group is modernising its technology and data, and this role will be key to ensuring GIA leverages these assets to provide value adding assurance and insight.
This role can be based in either Wolverhampton, Chatham or London. In line with our hybrid policy, you will be required to be onsite three days a week, with two days working from home. Approximately a 30% requirement for travel primarily to the other offices - such as Wolverhampton, London and the Southeast.

What you will be doing:
As the Director of Audit Operations and Professional Practice, you will have the opportunity to contribute towards the strategic direction of the internal audit team; shape and develop audit operations to be more data driven and insightful; and to optimise management information for audit operations and Board reporting. You will also have delegated authority from the Group Chief Internal Auditor and accountability for the ongoing development, delivery and monitoring of the GIA governance framework, quality assurance programme and audit methodology.
Your responsibilities will also include:
* Enhancing the production of insightful, data driven management information for audit operations, continuous monitoring, and Board reporting.
* Preparing financial forecasting and monitoring budgets for GIA team, in conjunction with the Finance Department.
* Providing key input and leadership to the strategic plans of the function.
* Conducting a rigorous internal quality assurance program to evaluate the effectiveness and quality of audit processes, reports and documentation.
* Continuously assess and improve audit methodology and framework, in accordance with leading industry practice and regulatory requirements (including Global IA Standards).
* Monitoring required skill sets for the team and designing/arranging training
In return for your commitment:
We offer a base salary dependent on experience from £115,000 - £130,000 and a competitive benefits package including:
* Discretionary annual bonus opportunity of up to 40%
* Car allowance of £7,500
* Annual LTIP opportunity of up to 40%
* 30 days annual leave plus bank holiday

* Previous experience of developing data driven information, both for internal use and Board Committee
