PERMANENT Night Shift Supervisor wanted for an award-winning business based in Rotherham. Due to growth within the business, the company is looking for an experienced supervisor with experience in the recycling industry and mobile plant experience!
Salary: circa £36K - permanent nights working a 4 on - 4 off shift pattern - excellent growing business
Job Purpose:
The Night Shift Supervisor is responsible for ensuring all activities on-site are carried out safely and efficiently, providing strong leadership and communication skills to the shift teams to ensure that operational improvements are implemented properly and become standard operating practice moving forward.
Key Accountabilities:
1. Ensure Health and Safety standards are managed.
2. Maintain housekeeping to an acceptable level.
3. Implement and drive for continual improvements.
4. Ensure production targets/outputs are achieved and maintained.
5. Promote an empowering workplace culture.
6. Set priorities to ensure the most efficient use of company resources.
7. Report and record all accidents, incidents, near misses, or any issues with potential to cause one.
8. Control efficiencies in all areas.
9. Quality control, monitoring all incoming loads, raw material stocks, products, and by-products, completing and recording all required testing.
10. Control all operations in accordance with company policies and procedures (e.g., safe operating procedures, risk assessments, environmental permits).
11. Manage contractors and third-party hauliers ensuring they follow all company policies and procedures while on-site.
12. Assist other areas of the site when required.
13. Complete required paperwork and ensure effective handover processes are in place.
14. Perform routine maintenance tasks, ensuring isolations are in place, lubricating, condition monitoring, changing skirts, refitting guards after maintenance, etc.
15. Report all disciplinary problems (e.g., lateness, absence, productivity, insubordination) as soon as they arise.
16. Manage breakdowns effectively, redeploying staff, calling out appropriate resources, assisting to reduce downtime.
17. Attend all relevant daily, weekly, and monthly meetings as required.
Person Specification:
1. Effective communication skills.
2. Good leadership skills and techniques, challenging the status quo while using effective influencing and persuasion skills to achieve results.
3. Ability to develop and improve working practices/systems and processes.
4. Proven supervisory management in a demanding environment demonstrating effective people management, absence management, and employee and customer relations activities.
5. Knowledge of company Health & Safety.
6. IT literate.
