What we are looking for
Are you looking to become a valued member in a team of passionate teachers who are committed to delivering a curriculum that emphasises a deep understanding of Food Preparation and Nutrition and encourages curiosity and success? We are looking for someone to join NSB following our recent recognition as 'Secondary School of the Year' at the Northamptonshire Education Awards and ‘Comprehensive School of the Year’ in the East Midlands for 2025 – the third time we have secured this honour in The Times and The Sunday Times ‘Best Schools’ Guide’ based on our outstanding GCSE and A level results.
The Design Technology department at Northampton School for Boys is a team of inspiring individuals who are committed to offering our students an outstanding education. Working as a teacher at our school provides a unique opportunity to enhance your teaching skills in a department that values support and innovation; our focus is on providing a knowledge rich curriculum that enthuses and inspires. As a teacher in Design Technology, you will have the opportunity to shape an ambitious curriculum that captivates our students, encouraging critical thinking and fostering a deep interest in Food Preparation and Nutrition. Though not essential, the ability to deliver Design Technology alongside Food Preparation and Nutrition would be useful.
Amongst other skills and attributes, we are looking for a candidate with experience of delivering high quality teaching and learning and evidence of positive student impact at GCSE within Food and Nutrition, ideally with the AQA specification. You must be highly motivated with a desire to support students across a range of needs and abilities – someone who prioritises evidence-based teaching and learning alongside academic success.
How to apply
We welcome all interested applicants to arrange a telephone/video call so that you can learn more about NSB and what we could offer you as a member of staff. Please take a few moments to visit our website to learn more about our past and how we are looking to the future as we became a muti-academy Trust in September 2023.
Application forms can be found via the school website on the ‘Vacancies’ page. Please send your completed application form to hr@nsb.northants.sch.uk. Alternatively, please apply through the TES or TeachNorthants portal. We encourage you to submit your application as soon as possible.
