Location: On Site – Bournemouth, Dorset
Contract type: Permanent
Hours of work: 8 to 12 hr various shifts pattern, including days and nights, 7 days per week
Salary: £13 per hour
PURPOSE OF THE JOB
Supreme Guarding Services Ltd is an S.I.A Approved contractor which specializes in the provision of security solutions, facilities management & services, catering and properties management within the UK. Supreme values adaptability, collaboration, and commitment.
The role: Supreme is working with a national organization highly regarded for their ability to provide high-quality care, support, and accommodation to vulnerable groups across the UK, including displaced peoples who are placed into designated emergency accommodation whilst their process of settlement is being reviewed.
We are looking for “Welfare Support Officers” to provide high-quality support and positive outcomes for accompanied and unaccompanied displaced people in residence. Previous experience working in a similar setting would be preferable but not essential as full training would be provided.
You will be responsible for providing support, care, advice, and guidance tailored to each Service User's needs to enable them in their transition into the UK. The role demands cultural sensitivity, empathy, and a commitment to delivering outstanding service, coordinating with local communities, charities, and other stakeholders to arrange an array of activities to take place at site.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Reporting to the Cluster Manager, the candidate will be working as part of a team of support workers responsible for but not limited to:
* Facilitating the check-in process for new service users, including registration, occupancy agreements, public service registration, access to legal support, and room allocation.
* Ensuring access to health care practitioners, shops, and support agencies.
* Providing access to educational or training opportunities within the local area.
* Providing access to social integration through local community groups.
* Providing practical and emotional support to service users, addressing safeguarding and welfare concerns.
* Monitoring the wellbeing and support needs of service users, ensuring accurate record-keeping for audit purposes, including room checks, meal monitoring, maintenance checks, and health and safety checks.
* Maintaining professional boundaries and resilience to effectively meet service users’ diverse needs.
Role Criteria
* Experience or demonstrative evidence working with diverse client groups.
* Understanding of safeguarding principles.
* Excellent communication skills with colleagues, local authorities, and service users.
* Demonstrated traits of supportiveness, trustworthiness, approachability, and empathy.
* DBS check prior to joining.
Training & Development
* Monitoring own work levels, progress, and development.
* Undertaking all core training and development programmes as required.
* Undertaking relevant learning according to agreed Personal Development Plan.
