What we are looking for
A dedicated and motivated person to supervise the night hygiene team. Ensuring that standards of production and food hygiene are maintained onsite for food production equipment and the overall environment.
The position
1. Oversee, manage and support hygiene team to deliver an efficient and effective hygiene plan.
2. Deputise for the Hygiene Supervisor when necessary.
3. Ensure staff are adequately trained and competent in both cleaning and health and safety methodologies.
4. Ensure all orders are collated and out loaded for dispatch whilst adhering to timescales and company policies, rules and procedures.
5. Support the Hygiene Supervisor to drive, implement change and improve hygiene efficiency and effectiveness within the team, factory environment and share best practice with colleagues.
6. Carry out audit hygiene activities in line with the required procedures and timescales.
7. Accountability for staff training, development and safety within the department.
8. Ensure you work safely, following specific cleaning instructions regarding Health & Safety and Food Safety requirements for individual tasks.
9. Ensure the hygiene plan is adhered to and attained. Highlight any areas of concern regarding adherence to the Supervisor.
10. Supervise cleaning and ensure that cleaning procedures are conducted to the prescribed frequency and methodology.
11. Deep clean of production areas, handling and dilution of cleaning chemicals as required.
12. Ability to dismantle and assemble factory machinery to ensure an effective hygiene clean has taken place.
13. Maintain & repair hygiene equipment – foamer units, dosing units, hoses and hose guns.
14. Report any engineering issues that need attention as part of machinery strip downs.
15. Undertake any other activities that the business requires.
The perfect candidate should have
1. Experience in food industry hygiene operations.
2. Experience of leading a team and monitoring performance against standards.
3. COSHH trained desirable but training can be given.
4. Able to work to time pressures.
5. Strong communication skills, written and verbal.
6. Able to follow instructions, written and verbal.
7. A ‘can do attitude’ and attention to detail.
