The Hays Bristol finance team are working with an established manufacturing company in the North Bristol area, who are a market leader in their industry.
The business are looking for support for a short-term period while the finance & HR team follow the permanent recruitment process.
The Finance Manager is responsible for the management of the finance function within the manufacturing site, including responsibility for strategy, budget reporting and line management responsibility for the finance team. The role is a senior site position based on-site in Bristol and reports into Group Finance.
Preference for the client is on site every day & they are looking for a qualified accountant.
Responsibilities:
Key member of the site leadership team.
Management of the accounting function, along with the company accounting team.
Preparation and reporting of financial information on a weekly and monthly basis (including monthly payroll).
Manage the annual budgeting process and future strategic development of various group entities.
Input into the year-end audit process and liaise with the company auditors.
Complete all regulatory reporting to statutory bodies.
Monitoring gross margins/contributions with a focus on optimising the sales mix.
Monitor working capital management, with particular focus on inventory, credit management, and cashflow.
Generate the necessary financial information that will highlight profit potential and/or inefficiencies.
Focus on cost control and lean principles with target of improving site efficiency.
Support the business in relation to general development or specific issues.
Ensure compliance with Group policies and procedures.
Coordinate the development of the systems to support business growth.
Periodic attendance at other group sites.
Other ad-hoc tasks as they arise.
Experience Required:
Qualified Accountant.
Post-qualification experience in a manufacturing environment is desirable but not essential.
Strong business acumen and analytical skills, along with the ability to review and submit monthly management accounts.
Strong leadership and people management skills.
Commercially focused with a strong, disciplined professional approach.
Compliance and control orientated.
Excellent Communication and Interpersonal skills.
Previous people management experience and strong leadership skills.
Excellent IT skills.
