We are seeking a well-organised and self-motivated individual interested in working in the recycling and environmental sustainability industry. This position is responsible for assisting in the administration of all aspects of depot activities and overseeing all facets of weighbridge operations when needed. This involves recording all materials in and out of the site and data entry. Working at our Long Marston site, the successful candidate will be part of a team and work under the supervision of a knowledgeable and supportive Site Manager.
On-the-job training will be provided to our successful new team member.
Key Responsibilities
1. Provide general administration support to the site manager
2. Record site absence, holidays, and ingoing and outgoing post activities
3. Deal with incoming telephone enquiries in a friendly and professional manner
4. Ensure the Company’s weighbridge procedures are adhered to at all times
5. Control site purchase order systems
6. Coordinate with yard personnel to ensure the correct processing of all loads
7. Liaise with customers, lorry drivers, contractors, and visitors to the weighbridge
8. Ensure compliance with the Company Health and Safety Policy by all staff, contractors, and visitors
9. Manage COTC cover for site and Hazard Waste control reporting
10. Control purchases of consumables – PPE, stationery, and office maintenance
11. Check and maintain first aid boxes
12. Maintain accurate and up-to-date site accounting records
13. Meet reporting requirements for the Head Office Accounts Department
14. Demonstrate exceptional organisational skills
15. Maintain a high level of attention to detail and accuracy
16. Exhibit excellent interpersonal skills
17. Be self-motivated, flexible, and adaptable
18. Maintain integrity and confidentiality
19. Possess strong written and verbal communication skills
20. Show good problem-solving skills and ability to stay calm under pressure
21. Manage a varied workload effectively
22. Be reliable and handle confidential information appropriately
23. Be available to work core hours with flexibility to meet operational needs
Qualifications/Knowledge
1. Strong IT skills (MS Word, Excel, etc.) and ability to learn new processes
2. Good numeracy and literacy skills are essential
3. Basic knowledge of Health & Safety legislation
