Join SSEN as an Electrical Technician and play a crucial role in ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of Battery Point Power Station. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with advanced power generation equipment, helping to maintain high standards of safety, compliance, and operational excellence.
You will
1. Install, maintain, and overhaul electrical equipment within the Power Station.
2. Fault-find and repair electrical systems, including HV and LV rotating plant, transformers, switchgear, and motor control gear.
3. Coordinate day-to-day electrical maintenance activities alongside the operations and maintenance teams.
4. Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and legislative regulations in all maintenance activities.
5. Provide technical expertise and support for safe plant operations, including troubleshooting complex electrical issues.
You have
1. Ideally qualified to a minimum of ONC / NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
2. Experience in maintaining and troubleshooting power generation equipment, HV and LV electrical systems, and associated auxiliaries.
3. Strong technical skills with a good understanding of electrical systems and power generation plant.
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective coordination with team members, contractors, and management.
5. Ability to work independently and take initiative in problem-solving and decision-making in high-pressure situations.
