We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated PE Teacher to join a secondary school in Southend-on-Sea. This full-time, temporary role presents an exciting opportunity to inspire students to develop their physical fitness, teamwork, and confidence through engaging sports and physical education lessons.
As a PE Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering dynamic and interactive lessons, ensuring students are encouraged to adopt healthy and active lifestyles. You will play a key role in fostering a positive learning environment, supporting students of all abilities to achieve their personal best in sport and physical activity.
This role is ideal for a motivated and passionate educator with a love for sport and a commitment to student well-being and personal development. While experience is desirable, it is not essential, as full training and professional development will be provided.
Key Responsibilities:
* Plan and deliver engaging PE lessons that cater to a variety of skill levels and sporting interests.
* Encourage students to participate in team sports, fitness activities, and competitive events.
* Promote health, well-being, and an active lifestyle among students.
* Adapt teaching strategies to support students with different learning needs and physical abilities.
* Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and individual support.
* Work collaboratively with colleagues, sports coaches, and external organisations to enhance the PE curriculum.
* Ensure all PE activities are conducted in a safe and structured environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
* Uphold safeguarding responsibilities and promote the welfare of all students.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
* Strong knowledge of physical education curriculum, sports science, and fitness development.
* Experience teaching in a secondary school setting is desirable but not essential.
* Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
* A passion for developing students’ confidence and engagement in sports.
* A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
