Role Overview: As a Sociology Teacher, you will: Teaching and Curriculum: Deliver engaging and high-quality sociology lessons to students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, with the opportunity to teach A-Level Sociology for the right candidate. Develop and refine curriculum materials that align with national standards and school goals, ensuring lessons inspire and challenge students. Foster a love for sociology by connecting theoretical concepts to real-world social issues, encouraging students to think critically and analytically. Student Progress: Regularly assess student progress, providing meaningful feedback to support academic and personal development. Use assessment data to inform your teaching, address learning gaps, and ensure all students are supported to reach their full potential. Professional Development: Engage in reflective practice to continually improve your teaching and contribute to the development of the Sociology department. Participate in the broader school community, supporting extracurricular activities and school events, helping to create a dynamic learning environment. Candidate Requirements: Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). A degree in Sociology or a related subject. Early Career Teachers (ECTs) are warmly encouraged to apply. Experience: Experience teaching Sociology at secondary school level, with a strong understanding of the national curriculum.
