Days/hours of work: Tuesday & Fridays
Hours: 0900 - 1700 with a 30 minute unpaid break and Sunday 0800 - 1400 with 15 mins unpaid break
Job Title: Warehouse Operative / Goods In
Department: Operations
Location: Letchworth Service Centre
Reports To: Team Leader
Grade: C
Job Purpose: To be multifunctional within the warehouse/despatch environment.
Key Accountabilities
* To be available to work within shifts on a rotational basis as required.
* To carry out all assigned tasks and duties in strict accordance with issued procedures.
* To achieve agreed productivity levels in all tasks.
* To be familiar with the branch operation and fully understand each function and the importance of its purpose.
* To maintain a high standard of housekeeping throughout all areas.
* To meet all health and safety requirements.
* To carry out any reasonable requests as determined by Branch Management.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required:
Essential:
* Good communication skills – both written and verbal.
* High visual accuracy.
* Basic Numeracy and Literacy.
Desirable:
* Knowledge of typical warehouse layout and control.
* Health and Safety requirements within a warehouse environment.
Key Working Relationships:
Regular liaison with Warehouse Manager, Supervisors, Warehouse Operatives and other employees within the Service Centre.
Level of Decision Making:
Required to act on own initiative and work unsupervised at times.
MANUAL HANDLING
It should be noted that manual handling tasks such as lifting and bending are “essential requirements” of this role.
