PURPOSE The Senior Financial Accountant position is responsible for accounting for the core financial accounting and analysis of specific division revenue within ibml. This includes the balance sheet accounts, profit and loss statements and fixed asset accounting as well as various general ledger responsibilities and specialized reporting. JOB DESCRIPTION ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Responsible for review and reconcilement of Accounts Receivable for division. • Responsible for review and reconcilement of Accounts payable for division. • Review Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable aging of division. • Reconcile inventory accounts between stock status and general ledger. • Calculation of inventory reserve for obsolescence for specific location • Prepare fixed asset accounting of additions and disposals and record depreciation. • Prepare monthly reconciliations of balance sheet account and financial entries for related accruals and prepayments. • Gross Profit Margin analysis and various revenue account analysis • Create financial reports for specific division for management reporting. • Work with manufacturing to provide reports for inventory management of division inventory. • Maintain WIP inventory records and monitor open work orders as needed for WIP reporting. • Coordinate year end physical inventory count and current to standard cost inventory roll process. • Document accounting processes and IT issues • Prepare portions of annual budget as directed by CFO. • Assist CFO/Financial Analyst in preparation of monthly MD&A financial reports for division reporting. • Assist with other projects as directed by the Controller. PREFERRED SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or related field. Master’s or CPA is a plus • Minimum 3 years in public and/or corporate accounting • Strong understanding of GAAP principals • Demonstrates basic understanding of bookkeeping and accounting processes. • Experience using accounting software; Macola experience preferred. • Strong Microsoft office (Excel, Word, Power BI and PowerPoint) skills required. • Effective communication skills • Strong analytic and critical thinking skills • Excellent planning, observation, written and organization skills. • Realistic scheduling and observance of deadlines • Must be able to multi-task, be detail oriented. • Ability to prioritize and work independently. • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based environment. • Ability to be flexible and exhibit a positive attitude towards change and improvement. Position reports to a manager in the HQ in Birmingham, AL in the US. Once hired, this person will be required to travel to the US for 2 straight weeks for training.
