Job Summary
We are seeking a young, dedicated, and passionate Head Coach to lead our small group of U7s/8s on a Thursday afternoon, 4PM-5PM (every other week). The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing young players’ skills, promoting fun & enjoyment, and encouraging sportsmanship. This role requires strong leadership abilities and a commitment to educating athletes on the fundamentals of their sport while ensuring their safety and well-being.
Duties
1. Develop and implement training programmes that enhance athletes' skills and performance.
2. Conduct regular practice sessions, focusing on technique, strategy, and teamwork.
3. Educate athletes on the rules of the sport, sportsmanship, and the importance of fair play.
4. Monitor athletes' progress and provide constructive feedback to help them improve.
5. Organise and oversee competitive events, ensuring all logistics are managed effectively.
6. Collaborate with other coaching staff to create a cohesive training environment.
7. Foster a positive team culture that encourages participation, respect, and personal growth.
8. Communicate regularly with athletes, parents, and relevant stakeholders regarding performance and development.
Skills
1. Strong background in sports coaching with proven experience in leading teams.
2. Excellent communication skills to effectively educate athletes at various skill levels.
3. Ability to motivate and inspire individuals to achieve their personal best.
4. Strong organisational skills to manage training schedules, events, and athlete development plans.
5. Knowledge of safety protocols related to sports training and competition.
6. A passion for sports and a commitment to fostering a positive athletic experience for all participants.
Job Types: Part-time, Zero hours contract
