In these approximately 50 countries in Europe and beyond some 13,000 colleagues are employed by DHL Freight Our customs office specializes in Scandinavian Road freight forwarding and groupage on behalf of DHL. The candidate must have a pro-active approach to workload and will be able to work to tight deadlines. Performance is monitored by weekly KPI's. Responsibilities Good understanding of road and sea freight processes including customs entry creation (airfreight is a plus) Knowledge of customs procedure codes, and processes for both imports and exports, regardless of types of commodities. Have understanding of import quotas, tariffs, trade agreements and HM Revenue and Customs regulations, such as restrictions and licences, as a member of the team your role will involve checking all is in order in this respect. Arranging and completing all associated paperwork, whilst being diligent to ensure it is legal and legitimate. The role involves being able to manage deadlines and sometimes difficult situations, therefore an element of negotiation is required in order to be able to meet timescales. Helping to organise all shipments with our customers and their customers across the world, ensuring costs and documentation are as scheduled. Direct investigations to verify and resolve customer and customs queries. Customer Invoicing Contact and organise services with our partners and suppliers on behalf of our customers. Keeping our database and online system up to date, involves updating and adding all the information and documentation required completing. Any other operations related job required Profile Good organisational, IT and communication skills. Excellent planning skills and ability to co-ordinate own work load and work as a team. Be aware of Health and Safety standards, along with a high understanding of dignity and diversity in the workplace. Have a methodical and organised approach to work with the ability to think ahead and prioritise tasks.
