Required Skills Health & Safety Management Environmental Compliance Safety Audits NEBOSH Health & Safety Quality Assurance Job Summary Our Client, a renowned Civil Engineering contractor, is seeking a Health & Safety Advisor to join their team in Horsham. The candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with health, safety, environmental and quality standards across their operations, the candidate will be expected to be site-based for 3 to 4 days a week, with 1 day spent at the site office. Experience - At least 1 year UK based experience in a similar HSEQ role within the construction, drainage or civils industries is preferred. - Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with employees at all levels. - A thorough understanding of relevant health, safety, environmental legislation and best practices is required. - Relevant qualifications in health and safety (such as NEBOSH or equivalent) would be advantageous but not mandatory. Job Responsibilities Implement and maintain HSEQ policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and standards. Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and areas for improvement. Perform root cause analysis on incidents and near misses, providing actionable recommendations to prevent recurrence. Prepare detailed reports on HSEQ performance, including findings from audits and inspections, ensuring clear communication of results to management. Deliver training sessions on health, safety, environmental practices and quality assurance to staff at all levels. Work as part of team to deal with HSEQ-related queries within the organisation. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to promote a culture of safety and quality throughout the organisation.
