Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Day Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Harlow, United Kingdom. In this role, you will be responsible for inspections, repairs, adjustments, and maintenance of mechanical equipment, as well as participating in continuous improvement projects within our facility.
1. Conduct regular inspections, repairs, and maintenance of mechanical systems and equipment
2. Perform adjustments and troubleshooting to ensure optimal equipment performance
3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement continuous improvement projects
4. Prioritize safety and adhere to safe working practices at all times
5. Respond promptly to mechanical issues during daytime hours to minimize downtime
6. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment performance
7. Contribute to the development of preventive maintenance schedules
8. Assist in the installation and setup of new mechanical equipment
9. Provide technical support and guidance to other team members as needed
10. Participate in team meetings and contribute innovative ideas for process improvements
Qualifications
11. Engineering Apprenticeship
12. Proven experience as a Mechanical Engineer in an industrial setting
13. Proficiency in using hand and power tools, including grinders, drill presses, calipers, micrometers, protractors, gauges, wrenches, chisels, files, and scrapers
14. Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, equipment, and industry best practices
15. Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to think critically under pressure
16. Demonstrated attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
17. Collaborative approach with the ability to work effectively across departments
18. Solid understanding of safety protocols and regulations in industrial environments
19. Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications
20. Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently
21. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
22. Willingness to work flexible hours when required to ensure manufacturing process safety
23. Physical ability to work in various environments, including confined spaces and heights
24. Continuous improvement mindset with a drive for innovation and efficiency
