The Principal Research & Information Officer role:
We have an exciting opportunity for a Principal Research & Information Officer to join our Performance and Information team.
You will be responsible for supporting and developing IT Applications for a social housing provider. Reporting to our Interim IT Manager, you will work closely with senior management and staff from across the organisation, along with IT Technical Support and IT contractors towards the provision of efficient and effective Housing computer systems.
You will be tasked with investigating faults and finding appropriate and tested solutions, user audits, thorough testing of upgrades and extracting data for management information and reporting purposes.
Key duties and responsibilities of our Principal Research & Information Officer:
* Analyse information, undertake research and provide reports across the company, including submitting accurate statutory statistical returns on behalf of the company.
* Perform complex bulk updates/upload of data to housing systems in a controlled manner.
* Understand business processes and have the ability to balance customer needs with business goals in developing and delivering solutions.
* Ensure information requirements conform to legislation (I.e., Data Protection, Equality & Inclusion etc), and ensuring that security procedures meet the requirements of internal audit/information security requirements.
* Compile and submit statutory returns ensuring they conform to standards.
* Be the IT lead on projects ensuring a detailed understanding of current data structures and systems are taken into consideration, including interpreting complex guidance and technical documentation ensuring systems are fit for purpose.
What we are looking for in our Principal Research & Information Officer:
* Level 6 qualification or equivalent level of knowledge gained through experience.
* Experience of supporting end users with IT system related issues.
* Experience of IT system implementation including configuration, testing and administration.
* Experience of using various reporting and programming tools such as Business Objects, SQL, TOAD, PLSQL, Access and Excel.
* Experience of system testing.
