Are you passionate about supporting children with special educational needs (SEN) in their early years? Humly is seeking a Reception SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 and small group support to young learners in a nurturing and inclusive environment. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact by helping children develop key skills, confidence, and independence in their early education journey.
Working Hours: Monday – Friday, 08:30 – 15:30 (30-minute lunch break)
Total Weekly Hours: 35 hours
What You’ll Be Doing:
* Provide tailored support for children with SEN, including ASD, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and sensory processing needs.
* Assist in delivering personalised learning plans in collaboration with teachers and the SENCO.
* Use play-based learning strategies to help children develop early literacy, numeracy, and communication skills.
* Foster a calm, structured, and inclusive learning environment, supporting emotional regulation and social development.
* Support children with daily routines, including transitions, sensory breaks, and structured play activities.
* Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to implement EHCP targets and interventions.
* Encourage engagement and participation, using adaptive teaching methods suited to individual needs.
What You’ll Bring:
* Experience working with children with SEN, ideally in Early Years or a primary school setting.
* A patient, caring, and proactive approach to supporting young learners.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trusting relationships with children, staff, and parents.
* A passion for early childhood development and inclusive education, with an understanding of SEN strategies and interventions.
* Adaptability, creativity, and resilience for working in a dynamic Early Years environment.
