Salary: £34,546 pro rata Reports to: Foundation Director Job Overview The Knepp Wildland Foundation is seeking Finance and Admin Manager to help with our growing charity operations on a part-time basis. We have a team of 12 and our charity manages a range of nationally significant landscape and species recovery projects, as well as a thriving youth education programme. The successful candidate will work closely with the Director and the Financial Working Group on bookkeeping, transaction reconciliation, staff expenses, and preparation for annual accounts. There may be annual support needed to update organisational policies and help with financial reporting to funders. This role requires someone with experience of charity finance and an ability to work independently within a fast-paced organisation. Key Responsibilities Bookkeeping Maintain accurate financial records, including accounts payable and receivable. Process monthly invoices and payments, ensuring timely approval and compliance with organisational policies. Work with project managers to review transactions monthly. Reconcile bank statements and other financial accounts monthly to ensure accuracy and detect discrepancies. Collaborate with the Director, Financial Working Group and external accountant in preparing documentation for annual financial statements and audits. Prepare necessary schedules, transaction histories, and supporting documentation for audit purposes. Administrative Support Provide administrative support to ensure smooth operations, including document filing, data entry, and record maintenance. Provide training and financial process guides for staff. Assist with updating organisational policies and procedures as required by the foundation. Support occasional grant reporting, funds claims, and funding applications as needed. Qualifications and Experience Proven experience in bookkeeping, financial management or accounting within a charity or conservation organisation. Proficiency with accounting software (currently QuickBooks). Experience of working with Microsoft tools including Sharepoint Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, with an ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
