Commercial Lead (Data Centres) - Northern Ireland - c£Excellent plus benefits
Our client is experiencing significant growth in the sector as the uptake of their services are helping to significantly reduce Data Centre build times. Through close working relationships with their clients, they are continuing to secure multiple repeat orders with projects averaging between £5M and £15M. They have a high-performing culture as they strive to become the supplier of choice for solutions across the UK, ROI and Europe.
Key Responsibilities
* To lead the project Commercial Team and provide support to the construction team on all commercial and quantity surveying functions including the following key responsibilities:
* The commercial management of multiple data centre projects, from client award through to package award,
* Responsible for securing the financial delivery of these projects by controlling costs - utilizing your Project Commercial Team.
* Day to day management of the Project Commercial Team.
* Identify potential commercial risks and reporting of same to senior management,
* Track monthly job performance and provide update via accurate reporting and feedback to Head of Commercial.
* Identify, analyse, and report on trends within the Project Budget at Design, Procurement and Delivery stages.
* Forecasting the impact of revenue and costs - on Project cashflow.
* Oversee the management of subcontractor accounts from initial award to interim valuation, variations, and final account.
* Oversee monthly progress applications.
* Lead the Project procurement in conjunction with Procurement Department.
* Ensure compliance with contract obligations and provide advice of the same to the construction team
* Integration with production & fabrication teams to lead on commercial impact of in-house production/fab capacity.
* Leading commercial reporting of in-house production & fabrication teams’ performance
* Any other duties associated required to undertake the above role.
Essential Criteria:
* Third level qualification in a Surveying or Cost Engineering discipline or can demonstrate an equivalent level of experience.
* Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role.
* Commercially astute and ambitious.
* High standard of organisational and time management skills.
* Sound knowledge of general construction methods.
* Working knowledge of labour, plant, materials and equipment rates.
* High level of IT literacy, especially in Microsoft Packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
* Excellent attention to detail.
* Good communication skills.
