We are looking for a positive, proactive and empathetic individual to join Framework as an Employment Advisor. This role offers an opportunity to deliver our Refugee Employment Support service to Syrian and Afghan families that are resettling in the Newark and Sherwood area. Gaining employment is vital part in the resettlement journey. Being in work offers financial security, provides stability and structure and helps build local relationships and social and supportive networks all of which are essential when settling into a new community. This standalone role will support both individuals and families by offering information advice and guidance with a focus on employment, education and welfare benefits. Key responsibilities: Build effective relationships with Afghan and Syrian families who require support with looking for work. Meet and support participants to understand their key skills, aspirations and goals through completing an Action Plan to help them progress towards and into paid employment. Develop relationships with resettlement services, support agencies and community groups signposting participants where appropriate. Support participants to engage in training and access opportunities in further education. Support participants to engage in active job search and a range of employability focused activities including CV production, application forms, interview techniques and career development. Source job opportunities for clients through tailored job search and regular contact with local employers to explore hidden as well as advertised employment opportunities. Provide ongoing in work support to individuals and families once they have started employment.
