At L3Harris in Brighton, we are part of Release Systems and the Mission Avionics sector operating in the Aerospace domain. We specialise in high-performance electro-mechanical systems and pneumatic technology for airborne weapon carriage release.
You will work closely with the Production and Design teams to generate conceptual solutions and designs, to produce detailed CAD design layouts and manufacturing drawings in an electro/mechanical design environment.

What the role will involve:
The responsibilities of your role will include the following:
1. Develop electrical/electronic concepts based on abstract schemes and/or customer specifications whilst considering the interaction with system and other design requirements.
2. Analyse electrical requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints.
3. Develop block diagrams and interface control documentation.
4. Conduct experimental tests & evaluate results.
5. Select suitable components & equipment based on analysis of specifications & reliability requirements.
6. Participate in and conduct design reviews on behalf of the company and present technical briefings as required.
7. Ability to assess vendor capability to support development.
8. Liaise with manufacturers and production engineering department.
What you’ll bring:
The role requires the following experience and skills:
1. Electrical design experience with a relevant degree qualification.
2. Proven knowledge of electro-mechanical systems.
3. Understanding and appreciation of both digital and analogue electronic disciplines.
4. Understanding of material properties and selection criteria for application.
5. Manufacturing methods suitable for the design intent.
6. Cable design experience.
7. Test box design, build, commissioning, and test.
