Randstad are looking for Residential Childcare Workers to join a dedicated, expert team in an award winning service near Dundee. The service supports children with social, emotional and behavioural issues ages 10-18 with past trauma. As a Residential Childcare Worker, you will support children and young people on their journeys from secure services, to residential and then throughcare or transitioning back to their families, own tenancy or adult support services. This position is challenging yet rewarding, offering you the opportunity to observe the long-term growth and progress of young people.
Pay rates of up to £18 per hour depending on experience and working pattern consists of one day on, two days off.

A successful residential childcare worker will responsible for:
9. Encouraging the physical, emotional and social wellbeing of the children in the service
10. Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with children in the service and acting as a key worker to children
11. Utilise positive behaviour techniques
12. Coordinating with teachers, social workers and wider care team to monitor and advance the needs of young people
13. Maintaining professional manner and working to National Care Standards
14. Promoting participation in education and life skills programmes
To be successful in your application, you will:
15. Have previous experience working in a care setting with young people
16. Experience in a secure setting is beneficial, but not essential
17. Have knowledge of cognitive behavioural approaches, attachment theory and child protection policy
18. Have experience advocating on behalf of a young person
19. Register under the PVG scheme
20. Full driving licence
