An opportunity has arisen within this Fire Service's Transport Section for a skilled Vehicle Technician, based at their Workshops in Rotherham. The Service is seeking to recruit a Vehicle Technician at their Vehicle and Equipment Repair Workshop. The overall purpose of the role will be to undertake repairs, modifications and maintenance to their fleet of vehicles and equipment. Vehicle Technician Contract : Permanent Salary : Grade 7 (£35,235 - £37,938) Hours : Full Time - 37 Hours per week Work Pattern : Monday - Thursday 0730 to 1530, Friday 0730 to 1500 Location : Rotherham Workshops, rear of Rotherham Fire Station, Eastwood Trading Estate, Fitzwilliam Road, Rotherham, S65 1ST To be considered for this role you will have experience of repairs, maintenance and servicing to both light and Large Goods Vehicles to the required standard. You will also have experience in the repair and maintenance of pneumatic, hydraulic and vehicle electrical/electronic systems. You will have knowledge of Road Transport for class 4, 5, 7 and LGV vehicles including current road vehicle maintenance standards and have a good understanding of vehicle diagnostic and repair techniques. You must possess a recognised qualification in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (preferably in LGV vehicles), NVQ level 3 or equivalent, have an LGV Driving License - class "C" minimum and be able to work independently or within a team.
