Sterling Recruitment Services are looking to recruit a Rolling Stock Coordinator to join our client on a permanent basis.
Location: Wallsend
JOB SPECIFICATION
1. Oversee daily fleet operations on-site, coordinating with all departments to meet their needs and ensure uninterrupted production.
2. Develop, manage and implement processes to maintain the smooth and safe operation of vehicles on-site, ensuring vehicles comply with environmental regulations and health and safety standards.
3. Assess, recommend, and justify new equipment purchases to optimize performance and reduce downtime.
4. Monitor fleet expenditure and make decisions based on long-term financial projections, ensuring optimal fleet utilisation whilst presenting cost saving strategies.
5. Analyse fuel and fleet usage and implement innovative solutions to enhance efficiency, reduce downtime, and optimize performance.
6. Collaborate closely with the maintenance team to schedule, resolve, and react to any issues that arise, ensuring minimal downtime and continuous operation to maximize productivity.
7. Support the Transport Manager and Transport function at SPU with the daily collection of information and realignment of site transport plan when required.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
1. Material planning/production planning or logistics coordination background would be ideal for this role.
2. Ability to communicate effectively between different departments.
3. Background in engineering, manufacturing, or construction.
4. Self-starter - someone who can proactively seek out information.
5. Strong IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Office.
6. A keen interest in learning site operations to understand departmental needs.
7. Excellent timekeeping.
8. Safety and quality-driven mindset.
9. IPAF desirable but not essential.
10. IOSH desirable but not essential.
11. Knowledge of industrial vehicles and relevant legislation would be preferable.
12. Degree level qualification highly desirable but not essential.
