We are looking for our new Associate Director of Facilities to lead a complete range of Facilities Management functions (soft FM) as part of our growing UHS subsidiary, UHS Estates Limited (UEL).

Main duties of the job
You will be a key contributor to our senior management team within UEL and UHS. With your acute healthcare leadership skills, you will be responsible for the delivery of a high-quality FM service, ensuring compliance with statutory and mandatory obligations and the maintenance of professional standards. Reporting to David Jones, our Director and Deputy Director of EFCD, you will work in partnership with Directors and Clinical Divisions across UHS and UEL to ensure the provision of professional, safe and high-quality services.
You will provide professional leadership to our technical and support staff and be a supportive manager who can engage, empower and support career growth in your teams. This is an exciting new chapter for UHS and UEL – and you will play an essential part in leading the soft FM teams and be a key contributor to the senior management team. You will also contribute to the strategic leadership of UEL, delivering to targets and continuous improvement in a dynamic, changing environment.

Your Responsibilities
You will:
1. Contribute to the development and implementation of UEL’s corporate strategy, ensuring all relevant policies, national standards and key performance standards are implemented and maintained.
2. With excellent stakeholder engagement skills, you will work with partners across UEL, UHS and Hampshire and Isle of Wight ICB to ensure resources support the provision of professional, safe and high-quality services.
3. With your compassionate leadership skills, you will lead the UEL soft FM teams, ensuring your team delivers safe effective services to patients, including the annual patient improvement objectives.
4. You will collaborate, contribute to and implement significant service redesign, business planning and deliver of cost improvement plans.
What we’re looking for:
You will bring your senior track record of working in an acute healthcare - or equivalent setting of scale and complexity- in a senior operational delivery management position.
You will demonstrate your knowledge of national and local NHS frameworks and the ability to analyse and interpret complex data and facilitate operational delivery decisions to support key performance targets.
With your strong communications skills, you will be able to present complex information to internal and external groups in an understandable and accessible way.
Evidence of successful leadership, management and engagement of clinical teams to introduce change and manage clinical and non-clinical operational services by in house and outsourced providers, including contracts in excess of £10m pa.

Person specification
Qualifications, knowledge and experience
* First degree or equivalent
* Evidence of post qualification study/professional development to masters level (post grad certificate/MBA/MSc) or equivalent general manager experience.
* Evidence of continuing professional development
* Experience of working in an acute healthcare or equivalent setting in a senior operational delivery management position
* Evidence of presenting complex information to internal and external groups in an understandable way.
* Management of clinical and non-clinical operational services by in house and outsourced providers.
* Experience of operational working in the NHS
* Knowledge of PPI programme
* Knowledge of Governance and risk Management
* Car driver with full driving licence, or ability to travel independently between hospital sites.
