Job Description
Your Mission on this Role:
Working as a member of the Major Project portfolio team, reporting directly to the Cost Lead, the Cost Engineer will:
1. Standardized Project Controls: Ensure consistent project control processes aligned with Client PMO across the portfolio.
2. Accruals & Reporting: Consolidate accruals and report to Client Finance on behalf of Client PMs.
3. Process Support: Assist the Cost Lead in defining and implementing multi-line cost management processes.
4. Monthly Spend Reports: Provide comprehensive monthly portfolio spend reports, collated from all projects.
5. Cost Tracking: Monitor costs vs. OBC/FBC baselines to ensure continued affordability across all projects.
6. Financial Reviews: Support Client PMs in monthly finance and delivery reviews.
7. Approval Baseline Monitoring: Keep a close eye on costs to maintain the affordability envelope.
8. JV Support: Assist joint venture cost controllers with invoice submissions and payment receipts.

What would your experience look like?
* Proficient in Excel (intermediate to advanced) or Power BI (future tool)
* Strong data interpretation and cost management/reporting skills
* Great communication & interpersonal skills, comfortable with senior stakeholders
* Experience in construction is ideal
* Familiar with CEMAR and NEC (can be taught)
* 3-5 years of experience and eager to grow within a dynamic project team
* Bring costs to life for senior PMs with forecast updates & cost reviews
* Manage daily figure work & reporting
* Dive into detailed costings for the project portfolio
