The Role:
We are currently looking for a dynamic electronics design engineer to play a crucial role within our specialist engineering team encompassing hardware, mechanical and software design within our engineering and research teams at our ‘Innovation Hub’ in Kettering.
Ideally suited to someone with a grounding in electronics at graduate level, the role will focus on the design and development of performance customer solutions that incorporate both electronic and mechanical elements in their design. You will be an innovative electronics engineer that is keen to learn and adapt to deliver the highest levels of design creativity and solution, ideally with an appreciation of mechanical CAD design.
Whilst experience in designing with Altium (electronics) and SolidWorks (mechanical) CAD systems would be an advantage, training can be given to transfer from alternative packages.

Graduate engineer or time served relevant experience
Salary range:
£28,000- £40,000 depending on experience and qualifications
Key Responsibilities:
1. Design and Development: Conceptualize, design and develop electronic solutions from first principles, including schematics, PCBAs and test plans.
2. Prototyping and Testing: Build and test prototypes to validate design concepts, ensuring functionality, reliability, and performance standards are met.
3. System Integration: Integrate electromechanical components with electronics systems, ensuring seamless operation and compatibility.
4. Analysis and Optimization: Conduct detailed analysis of electronic designs identifying opportunities for improvement and optimisation.
5. Documentation: Prepare technical documentation, including design specifications, test reports, and information for user manuals. Knowledge of PPAP, DFMEA and PFMEA would be an advantage.
6. Project Management: Manage projects from concept to completion using company processes, ensuring timelines and budgets are adhered to.
7. Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including mechanical, electrical, and software engineers, to achieve project objectives.
8. Compliance: Ensure all designs comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and quality control protocols.
Additional Requirements:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Electronic Engineering, or time served.
2. Industrial experience although new graduates with a passion for creative design are encouraged to apply.
3. Time management and ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
4. Detailed electronics hardware engineering knowledge. Ideally with experience of Altium.
5. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multicultural team.
6. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex systems.
7. UK right to work, passport and driving licence is required, as there will be some UK and potentially international travel in the role.
8. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly and effectively. Familiarity with Office 365.
9. Experience supporting Electronics and Mechanical designers as part of a larger team.
10. Knowledge of mechanical design (such as SolidWorks).
11. Embedded software experience.
12. Experience of planning and managing own projects.
13. Experience of working for a multinational company.
14. Experience of working with customers and suppliers.
