Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Buyer to lead a small team focused on guidance and support for daily activities. Reporting to the Head of Procurement Services, you will also be responsible for developing and implementing purchasing strategies to achieve OTIF targets and drive performance.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead and manage a small team of buyers, providing guidance and support in their daily activities to achieve OTIF targets.
2. Develop and implement purchasing strategies to achieve cost savings and improve supplier performance.
3. Conduct market/data analysis to identify trends, potential suppliers and opportunities for improvement.
4. Support bid submissions by collaborating with internal teams and ensuring all necessary purchasing information is accurate and timely.
5. Monitor and manage supplier performance, addressing any issues that arise to maintain strong partnerships.
6. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their purchasing needs and provide effective solutions.
7. Maintain and develop existing customer/supplier relations.
8. Ensure compliance with company policies and purchasing best practices within the team.
9. Supporting the sales and stores teams with collaborative projects.
Skills and Qualifications:
1. Proven experience as a Buyer, with a strong track record in purchasing and supply chain management.
2. Leadership experience, with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
4. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
5. CIPS qualification or actively working towards CIPS certification is essential.
6. Proficient in Microsoft Services (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Additional Information:
All staff are subject to a DBS check, which will be processed during your probationary period. Employment is contingent on achieving DBS clearance. Under some circumstances the successful applicant may also need to achieve full Security Clearance. You must also be eligible to work in the UK.
