This is a year round job for 45 hours per person per week in season and 15 hours per person per week in winter (November to March). From April to October, time off is one full day together, plus 2 half days split.

Barcaldine Castle is a well-established, luxury bed and breakfast, exclusive use hire and small weddings business, situated in a stunning location 9 miles north of Oban. The castle has 6 stylish en-suite guest bedrooms, personally furnished with antiques and high quality designer soft furnishings. Whilst the property retains its historic features, there are 21st century comforts throughout and we operate to 4 star gold standards.
From November to March, the bed and breakfast closes and we offer a limited number of exclusive use self catering lets. Managing changeovers would be required, including over the Christmas/New Year period. During the winter there is flexibility to travel for several weeks at a time and the duties are very much lighter.
The successful applicants will be responsible for the day to day running of the castle. This includes welcoming guests, arranging maintenance, breakfast cooking and service, cleaning and general upkeep, laundry, keeping accurate records, stock purchasing, compliance, understanding of profit/cost control and operation of our small bar. Ideally the successful applicants will have experience with computerised reservation systems and of weddings and events. Training will also be given.
You will manage a staff team of 2 general assistants, working on a weekly rota to cover the castle 7 days a week from April to October from 7am until 10pm. Hands on housekeeping is part of the job and you will need to assist with room cleaning for an average 10 hours per week each. All laundry is processed in house. We are a small business and this is not a desk management job. We are looking for multi taskers who thrive on variety. Approximately 10 hours per week will be spent on admin, although most of our bookings and accounts are processed remotely.

Applicants should energetic, practical and physically fit as the castle has a 42 step stone staircase.
Salary is £3000 per person per month from April to October and £1000 per person per month from November to March.
Own car essential and both applicants must be able to drive. Ideally one person will be a personal licence holder and both will have a proven track record from a similar role.
