Responsibilities – Manufacturing Engineering Technician
New Product Introduction
Drive the seamless transition of new products and improvements from R&D to production.
Collaborate with cross functional teams to deliver Industrial Engineering input into DfM, DFMEA and PFMA processes.
Defines the working phase sequence of a New Production Process to achieve the targeted product cost and equipment investment budget.
Develop operational engineering specifications, oversee assembly line designs, and create build instructions for a variety of cutting-edge products.
Production Support
Provide hands-on support to ensure the production line operates efficiently and safely, addressing Process, Mechanical or Electrical issues that arise.
Responsible for the upkeep of jigs, fixtures, and test equipment, and manufacturing documentation
Identifies and recommends improvement opportunities and implements improvement projects, ensuring adherence to timeframe, quality, and cost requirements.
Drive the resolution of failure analysis, root cause and corrective actions for field returns.
Ensures appropriate production methods, cycle time, equipment performance, and materials/components in support of production targets.
Evaluates new process technologies to improve productivity, quality, and cost reduction, defining and leading testing activities, approval criteria, and external provider choices.
Provides support to Production during the internal/external process/equipment start-up, defining action plans and training relevant maintenance and production resources.
Qualification/Experience – Manufacturing Engineering Technician
HNC/HND (with relevant experience) and/or suitable Engineering based Degree (Mechatronic, Mechanical, Manufacturing, or comparable)
Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping)
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work well within a team as well individually
Highly organised and strong attention to detail
Proficiency in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks or similar) - desirable
PLM Software experience- desirable
Knowledge of manufacturing processes- desirable
Project Management Qualification/Experience - desirable
Confidence in the assembly of prototype/small batch electro-mechanical devices - desirable
