Job Title: Clinical Director
Location: Hybrid. Based from home with regular visits to practices and HQ in Swindon
Reports To: Chief Executive Officer
Job Description:
We are seeking a highly experienced Clinical Director to support our group of 40 high quality, private dental practices. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional leadership abilities, a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care in a private environment and commercial acumen. This role will be pivotal in ensuring our practices offer best-in-class clinical care and patient experience, while complying with regulatory standards and achieving excellent commercial results.
The successful candidate will be a part of our Senior Leadership Team, a Director of our dental body corporate, hold NHS contracts and will play a key role in our future success.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Leadership and Oversight:
* Provide clinical leadership and direction to all dental staff, including dentists, hygienists, therapists and support personnel across multiple locations.
* Foster a culture of continuous improvement and high-quality patient care among clinical teams.
* Conduct regular meetings with clinical teams to communicate practice goals, updates, and best practices, supporting our operations teams.
* Promote close collaboration between clinical and operational teams to ensure they work effectively together for mutual benefit.
* Support the commercial performance of the business through, for example, identifying new revenue opportunities, working to improving RPH and other KPIs.
2. Clinical Governance:
* Develop, implement and monitor clinical protocols, procedures and policies to ensure best practices in patient care.
* Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, working closely with our Compliance Manager, who will report to the Clinical Director.
* Lead efforts for quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction ratings.
* Interview all prospective dentists, specialists, hygienists and therapists.
* Performance management of dentists whose performance and/or conduct does not align with our goals and values.
3. Training and Development:
* Oversee the training and mentorship of dental staff, ensuring they are equipped with the latest techniques and knowledge in dental care.
* Identify educational opportunities and professional development for team members.
* Relaunch and build the Gensmile Academy.
* Mentor and guide younger dentists.
4. Patient Care Management:
* Support the operations team, when required, to address and resolve any patient complaints or concerns in a timely manner.
5. Strategic Planning:
* Collaborate with senior leadership to align clinical objectives with organisational goals.
* Analyse clinical performance metrics and create strategies to enhance service delivery.
6. Stakeholder Engagement:
* Serve as a liaison between dental staff and commercial management to foster effective communication.
* Engage with external stakeholders, including regulatory agencies and dental associations, to represent the organisation.
* Develop close working relationships with our senior dentists.
Qualifications:
* GDC registered dentist
* Significant experience in multi-practice management of primarily private dental practices.
* Strong knowledge of dental practice management, regulation compliance and quality-improvement methodologies.
* Exceptional communication, leadership and organizational skills.
