Job Description:
JMC Aviation is working with a MRO company, traveling between Southend, Harlow, and Stansted, looking to recruit a new Commercial and Procurement Manager to join their team.
This client is a leading MRO operating for over 30 years, providing outstanding customer service and fostering employee growth. They offer in-house component repair, overhaul, and maintenance of various aircraft types.
This is a permanent position involving travel between Southend, Harlow, and Stansted.
Working hours: Monday - Friday (08:30 - 17:00).

The Role
The primary purpose of this role is to manage the commercial and procurement teams by focusing on driving business performance and growth through proactive contract management with both customers and suppliers. Responsibilities include leading contract negotiations, managing commercial risk through governance and procedures, supporting new business opportunities, and ensuring efficient quoting and procurement processes to enhance customer experience.
Other duties include:
* Representing the company in all commercial and procurement matters related to contracts
* Developing strong relationships with customers and suppliers at various levels and monitoring their commercial performance
* Providing commercial insights to drive profitable growth and reviewing pricing strategies
* Managing bid/no-bid decisions to ensure value and low risk
* Overseeing Estimating and Procurement departments for accurate and prompt material and subcontract pricing
* Developing, implementing, and managing effective commercial and procurement procedures, with KPIs to monitor performance and identify improvements
* Ensuring compliance with contractual requirements and regulations
* Supporting sales initiatives by informing customers of services and managing new service introductions
* Ensuring contractual obligations regarding service delivery are understood by Department Heads
* Monitoring daily commercial performance of customer accounts
* Developing procurement strategies for stock management and re-sale of unrequired stock
* Negotiating contracts with reliable suppliers to ensure cost-effective procurement
* Managing and developing the Commercial (including Estimating) and Procurement teams
* Participating in audits and implementing corrective actions
Skills and Attributes Needed
* Ability to travel between sites
* Experience in Commercial and Procurement Management, preferably in an MRO or Aviation Manufacturing environment
* Knowledge of Contract Law and negotiation skills
* Successful customer account management and business development experience
* Experience in supply chain solutions and procurement strategies
* Ability to prioritize and manage conflicting deadlines
* Experience managing multiple teams and workload management
* Development of effective commercial and procurement procedures
* Ability to produce KPIs and identify performance improvements
