Homes for Students is a market leader in managing independent purpose built student accommodation (PBSA) The Company, since it was formed in October 2015, has secured 40,000 bed spaces across 160 properties with more than 50 different clients.
We are seeking a Credit Manager to join our Finance team in Harrogate, working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
As finance business partner the successful candidate will be responsible for providing key information and statistics to support the Corporate Finance Manager in
Key Responsibilities
Management of AR team – including Credit Control Supervisor, 2x Credit Controllers & 3x AR administrators (2 remote)
Oversight of the AP team to ensure supplier payments are made in a timely manner, all queries responded to and accounts reconciled & to act as an escalation point for noncompliant billing
Take full ownership of the credit control process, ensuring efficient collections and maintaining strong customer relationships
Responsible for Issuing Weekly debt report to Senior Finance Members and Executive team members detailing, cash collections, trends, and debt balance risks
Presenting at a weekly Credit Control meeting to Senior Finance Managers
Setting measurable targets and reporting progress on collections and key initiatives to senior stakeholders
Effectively manage bank accounts, credit cards & all other cash management
Manage a rolling 36 cashflow forecast
Monitor outstanding balances and proactively address overdue payments.
Set and review customer credit limits and payment terms, ensuring they align with company policies and management agreements
Production of transaction accounts reports, such as aged debt & vendor payment runs
Provide additional input resource to the function(s) as and when required
Provide support and training to the operational, sales and commercial side(s) of the business.
Focusing on people and team development, including identifying skills gaps and fostering a culture of growth
Assistance in the annual and interim audit processes.
Identify opportunities to optimise systems and processes, introducing improvements that enhance efficiency
Adhoc project work
To support and maintain best practice in regards to GDPR
To be committed to continuous improvement within the finance department and reporting
Support on adhoc tasks and reporting
To keep up to date with industry initiatives to enable best practice to be adopted at all time

IT Skills (includes Key Competencies)
Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Office ( Excel skills are key in this role)
Accounting Packages - ideally Navision
A good level of IT understanding – ad-hoc packages are used within the function

Experience and Qualifications
Essential
Degree/Accounting Qualification
Experience in designing and implementing automated reports/processes
Good organisational skills and can work in a methodical manner
Time management skills
Proven track record in all areas of accounts
Desirable
Fully Qualified with a Professional Accounting Qualification
Full driving licence and use of own vehicle
Experience with Navision system and Jet Reporting
