Due to the secure nature of the programme, you will need to hold UK Security Clearance or be eligible to go through this clearance. This position will be a hybrid position, working out of our site in Farnborough or Reading.
Your future duties and responsibilities
We are seeking an experienced IT Change Manager to lead and optimize our change management process. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the change queue, coordinating change implementation, and ensuring that modifications to our systems are executed efficiently and with minimal risk. You will act as a facilitator for change, driving a culture of best practice and continuous improvement across all teams while effectively liaising with both internal and external stakeholders.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
• Develop & Implement Change Strategy:
Create, implement, and maintain a comprehensive change strategy and plan that meets
time and budget objectives while aligning with customer needs.
Report progress on all accountabilities to the relevant management body.
• Manage Change Execution:
Oversee changes interfacing with internal and external systems, coordinating change
implementation and testing in line with the change schedule.
Ensure all schedule changes are thoroughly analysed, risks and mitigations identified,
and impact assessments conducted with input from relevant SMEs.
• Facilitate Change Advisory Board (CAB) Processes:
Table all Request for Changes (RFCs) for CAB meetings, prepare and circulate agendas,
and distribute RFCs to CAB members in advance for pre-meeting review.
Chair all CAB and Emergency CAB (ECAB) meetings, convening ECAB sessions for urgent
RFCs as required.
• Portfolio & Performance Management:
Plan and coordinate the change portfolio, defining clear measures of success.
Track issues, monitor progress, and provide regular reporting to ensure continuous
improvement and successful change outcomes.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role
• Demonstrated experience in change management, including the implementation and maintenance of change strategies.
• Effective communication skills with the ability to clarify expectations and manage stakeholder relationships.
• Strong risk management skills with a focus on identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks associated with change.
• Experience in managing a small team, ensuring cohesive collaboration and clear accountability.
Desired Competencies:
• Understanding of Agile development processes and their application in change management.
• Experience with cloud platforms, providing insight into modern IT infrastructures.
• Background in Defence environments, offering an understanding of stringent regulatory and operational requirements.
