St John’s Beaumont is an outstanding prep school for children aged 3 to 13 in the Jesuit Tradition. Set in a beautiful 75-acre woodland estate, St John’s is believed to be the oldest purpose-built preparatory school in the country, founded in 1888. In 2023, St John’s marked an exciting new chapter in the School’s long history – opening its doors to girls (currently up to Year 4).

JOB PURPOSE:
The role of Admissions and Marketing Administrator is integral to the success of the Admissions function at St John’s Beaumont, and works collaboratively with the whole School Community. This is a varied position where no two days are the same, and the selected candidate will able to work in a busy School environment, and swiftly adapt to change. This role would suit an individual with strong communication and organisational skills, a friendly, open demeanour, with a good sense of humour.
The department is led by the Head Admissions and Marketing, and forms part of the School’s Support Staff team. The overarching goal of the department is the recruitment and enrolment of new families into the school, as well as nurturing the relationship with our existing parent community and beyond.
Role specification:
• Start Date: January 2025
• Working hours: Between 30 to 35 hours per week, term-time only, plus 4 weeks.
• Salary: Depending on experience.
Role Overview:
Admissions:
* Be point of contact for prospective families, guardians and educational agents via our website, phone calls, e-mails, open days or other introductions.
* Follow up on prospective enquiries by phone and email.
* Collation of detailed pupil information and accurate record keeping.
* Prepare digital and hard copy pupil files with a high degree of attention to detail.
* Support school admissions and marketing events (some evening or weekend work may be required).
Marketing:
* Take photographs throughout the school day and at events for social media content.
* Post daily/regular content across social media platforms, ensuring the messaging is appropriate and on-brand.
* Prepare the weekly school newsletter on Mailchimp.
* Undergo training on the school website’s CMS (provided), make necessary updates to the website when required and post school-news stories.
General:
* Work collaboratively as part of the School’s Administration Team.
* Supporting the Head of Admissions & Marketing with any other administrative duties to ensure an effective admissions process at the school.
* Be willing to engage in on-going staff development and training.
* Work in a confidential and professional manner at all times.
* Maintain high professional standards of attendance, punctuality, appearance, conduct and positive, courteous relations with students, parents and colleagues.
* Engage actively in the performance review process.
Other Duties:
* Support school events (e.g., Sports Days, Open Days), including occasional weekends.
* Always promote safeguarding and the welfare of the children in the school's care, in accordance with the school’s safeguarding policies.
* Be conversant with and adhere to the school’s Child Protection & Safeguarding, First Aid, Health and Safety, and Data Protection policies.
* Uphold the ethos and values of St John’s Beaumont School.
* Undertake additional training for the better performance of duties.
* Covering other support staff colleagues, including Reception, as and when required.
* Any other reasonable task as directed by the Headteacher, Bursar, and Head of Marketing and Admissions.
