In the UK, Safran Seats specializes solely in the First Class and Business Class seating markets for wide body aircraft, with industrial and engineering teams in Cwmbran and Newport, Wales, and Brackley, England.
The purpose of this role is to be responsible for the management of operational activities within the logistics function and contribute to the delivery of the overall logistics strategy of SGB to ensure the delivery of commitments to all customers. The role holder will actively lead the assigned team, providing supervision, support, and development of people to achieve key operational metrics in line with the overall Supply Chain business strategy. The Logistics Manager is accountable for achieving Logistical KPI's in scope as well as leading continuous improvement of the teams and processes.
Key Responsibilities
1. Being the lead, mentor, and developer of the supply chain team.
2. Ensure a safe working environment and drive HSE culture leading by example, implementing daily, weekly audits on HSE as well as improvement plans.
3. Understand the One Safran process standards (SCOUT) for the relevant logistics process and maintain and build upon process standards with the view to develop and drive improvements where necessary.
4. Own and produce Logistics KPI's to assess performance vs target and communicate status to key stakeholders.
5. To ensure continuous improvement activities are conducted, reviewed, and evaluated in the area of responsibility with the team.
6. People management activities including conducting team meetings, providing updated data and information to drive best working practices for the team and individuals, employee management including but not limited to absence management, people development, employee relations, and recruitment/selection.
7. Manage, allocate, evaluate a cross-functional team in order to optimize operational resource.
Job Requirements
Candidate skills:
Working knowledge in key warehousing processes, ideally with multi-site setup.
Confident communicator with ability to communicate both verbally and written to own team and leadership.
Previous experience of team leadership & people-related activities.
Exposure and/or experience in the development of teams.
High attention to detail.
Incorporates Safran Leadership Model with demonstrable exposure.
Comfortable to deliver reports and communications to the wider team.
HSE Qualification.
Demonstrable proactiveness in identifying & solving problems.
Positive attitude to tackling challenges.
